My first rant.
Mood:  irritated
Topic: Stupidity.

Before I begin my ranting or venting, whichever you prefer to call it. I would like to introduce my blog to you. My blog is about domestic affairs of the United States and international affairs in general. While I was lurking around the internet, I could not help but find American stupidity over the Russia/Georgia conflict. Many of you might already know about this, but for those who don't i'll fill you in.

Georgia is a nation located in a geographical area known as the caucasus, currently the nation is in a dispute with its northern neighbor, Russia. To keep this short and to the point so I can rant about the problem I see with a certain something I found, Russia invaded Georgia. Now here is a text I found on Yahoo Answers. (This is an actual quote, you can't make this stuff up).

''I live in georegia but i dont see rusia no where not even sound but they says theres tanks should i be worrie''

Response from Yahoo.

''You are in the state of Georgia. The nation of Georgia is on the other side of the world.''

Many reading this might wonder why there is no question mark or even a period in the guy's question, but judging by his grammer skills i'd say it's safe to say he is an idiot. In all honesty, I know Americans are becoming more and more stupid with our failing school systems, but to think someone could be so dumb to get two places with the same name confused is retarded. You might say ''well, not really, it could happen to anyone.'' No, not to me. Seeing this makes me ask myself, what is going on with America's school system? Geography is important, so people like numnuts above understand what is happening in the world and also so they don't think their being invaded. Sadly, I remember reading a poll where almost 50% (that is half the population of the United States) had no idea where Iraq or Afghanistan was on a world map.

Reading what I read on Yahoo Answers made me sick to my stomach. This is coming from someone like most people has just been through high school and therefore has seen the stupidity of our future first-hand. So the question has to be asked on a country whos population elects their leaders based on ''seeing them with a beer.'' Are we doomed to drown in our own stupidity? In a nation where kids and even adults are too stuck up in their own superficial world, are we doomed to be the next Roman Empire? Considering we have already fallen from grace in the eyes of the rest of the world and just reading the statement I posted above; I'd say yes.
